Conspiracy Theories

Summary

“Conspiracy Theories” is a 4e campaign based in the standard setting. We begin our adventure in the Nentir Vale, and as the players explore, I will make up some random stuff about the world. Though the adventure begins with H2 Thunderspire Labyrinth at 4th level, I am planning to make it a more open ended game. So far, we may go in a number of directions. Multiple plotlines have been incorporated into H2 and afterwards I plan to let the players choose which one to pursue.

With the fall of Nerath, the world has been left empty of empires, but the space left has been filled by smaller entities. Small nations, duchies, and baronies exist. But most of all, there are organizations. Some consolidate their power into ruling a settlement, be it behind a throne or on it. Some spread their influence across the world, creating a net of criss-crossing invisible borders. Some even join together to create small nation-like entities. The campaign is focused on intrigue and powered by these organizations.

This campaign may be set in a “standard” setting, I will be borrowing heavily from other settings, people, and so on. The Forgotten Realms pantheon has been partially merged with the standard one, and some names and domains have been swapped. Erathis is now Tyr (from 3.5e), Pelor is Lathander (from 3.5e), Sehanine is Selune, the Raven Queen is Kelemvor, and the Nature domain has been split into three: Silvanus for earth, Melora for sea, and Talos for Sky. The “image” of these gods has also slightly shifted. Why? Because I like it that way.
